Title:  * Waiting-List-Only * - 2019 Mini Medical School in Johnston County (Smithfield)
Description:  What would it be like to train for a career in the medical field? Wake AHEC’s Mini-Medical School is an intensive, week-long day camp that uses computational science (computer simulation) and hands-on activities (dissection) to study key aspects of medicine. Topics include anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, cardiology, epidemiology, medical genetics, and genomics. The course is taught by Becky Brady, a registered nurse and chemical engineer as well as guest speakers. In addition, students will become CPR and First Aid certified! Students must have strong motivation to learn and an interest in health careers.
