Webinar (Recorded): You are the Key to HPV Cancer Prevention-2017 Updates

Description:  ** Vimeo Webcast ** - REVISED-Despite advances in awareness and prevention, HPV remains a public health threat. Seventy-nine million Americans are currently infected with HPV and approximately fourteen million become newly infected each year. HPV is so common that most sexually active men and women will get at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. While HPV vaccine has been proven to be safe and highly effective protection against the disease, vaccination rates continue to lag behind those of other preventable diseases. The CDC estimates that 40% of adolescent girls and 60% of adolescent boys remain unvaccinated against HPV. This shortfall carries serious consequences, translating into 53,000 future cervical cancer cases over the lifetimes of girls, ages 12 years and younger. This webinar will provide information for clinicians who provide care for adolescents on the current status of HPV, and on evidence-based prevention of HPV-related cancers by increasing the rate of immunization in our medical practices.New CDC information on prescribing from October 2016 will be covered.
