Webinar (Recorded) - Rabies Update 2017

Description:  ** Webcast ** - New Rabies guidelines came out in 2016 and include specific new control measures for postexposposure management of dogs, cats and ferrets exposed to rabies. The webinar discusses the legal aspects of adoption of these control measures by the local health director, a description of the changes contrasted to G.S 130A-197, and recommendations regarding implementation of the control measures. The new rabies control measures can only be implemented by the local health director if adopted by local board of health rule or other policy in the exposed animal's jurisdiction, or if G.S. 130A-197 is amended to adopt and incorporate by reference the postexposure management control measures of the current NASPHV Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control. This webinar is designed to provide updates outlined in the 2016 NASPHV Rabies Compendium on Post-exposure Management Control Measures for dogs, cats and ferrets.
