Webinar (Recorded) - NC Public Health Law Overview and Update

Description:  ** Vimeo Webcast ** - This webinar will address the current state of Public Health Law in North Carolina including current initiatives that focus on the restructuring of local Health Departments and its impact on care. Other key topics will be addressed including public/confidential record keeping, remedies for enforcing public health laws and resources for local health departments for answering questions and seeking assistance when issues arise. Participants will be awarded the opportunity to submit questions during the session in an effort to develop an increased level of understanding Public Health Law.

Objectives:  1. Describe sources to consult when additional information about a legal issue is needed.
  2. Identify categories of local public health records that must be made available to the public and those that must be kept confidential.
  3. Explain at least one of the legal remedies that is available to enforce public health laws.
  4. Name the entity that serves as the local board of health for the county or district in which the participant works.
