Title:  * Closed * - The 12th Annual Floyd A. Fried Advances in Urology
Description:  The 2014 UNC Advances in Urology will highlight several new developments in the field of urology. Subjects to be covered include the contemporary management of prostate cancer including novel imaging and molecular testing, the current standard of care for urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and ureter, and an overview of current management strategies for male infertility, overactive bladder, and ureteral reconstruction. The latest approaches to the management of advanced renal cell carcinoma will be outlined. Separate speakers discussing the ACA/ACO and the emergence of patient reported outcomes will address how these important changes will affect the way health care will be delivered in the United States. Lastly, the important topic of end of life care in the urologic patient will be addressed.

  7. Recognize the concept of patient-centeredness in health care delivery and research.
  8. Recognize the current standard of care in the management of bladder and ureteral cancer.
  9. Describe robotic approaches to ureteral reconstruction.
  10. Recognize the role of the ACA and ACO’s in the current health care landscape.
  11. Discuss strategies to approach end of life care in the urologic patient.
