Wake AHEC Quality Initiatives & AHEC Performance Improvement

Wake AHEC offers a broad range of education and outreach services in support of quality and practice improvement initiatives. Wake AHEC is committed to helping transform the way healthcare is delivered; by assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in developing the tools, systems and support needed to provide consistently high quality care to all patients, all the time; in support of improved health outcomes. We can assist providers in accomplishing all facets of a quality improvement project, including:

Data collection and assessment;
Project implementation and training;
Outcomes measurement and evaluation.

Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit is available for participation in these practice-based learning and improvement initiatives. This innovative approach to CME allows physicians and their office staff to analyze processes of care and redesign practice specific mechanisms; to improve patient care without leaving the practice setting.

Quality Initiatives support and reflect state-of-the-art clinical process improvement methodology, the ACGME Clinical Core Competencies, and CME and selected maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements. Wake AHEC's current structured initiatives include:

Improving Performance in Practice (IPIP).
