Partnering Guidelines for CEU Credit
Medicine...
The Wake Area Health Education Center is accredited
by the North Carolina Medical Society to provide Continuing Medical
Education (CME) for Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse
Practitioners.
The Wake AHEC CME program provides a collaborative vehicle for the
design and delivery of CME activities at both the community and
regional level. We coordinate varied learning opportunities
including regularly scheduled conferences, single course activities,
enduring materials, and practice-based learning and improvement
initiatives.
We strive to play an active role in defining and developing the most
clinically relevant CME for evidence-based medicine, systems-based
practice, and outcomes measurement. The focal points of our activity
design emphasize evident educational need, the quality and rigor of
content, and compliance with all standards and guidelines of the
North Carolina Medical Society.
Our goals include:
-
To improve
the environment of professional medical practice by identifying
new and emerging healthcare needs, as well as evolving challenges
in the provision of healthcare, and to design educational
opportunities to respond to those needs.
-
To bring
the educational process closer to the practitioner as an integral
part of providing the highest quality patient care, thus resulting
in improved patient outcomes.
-
To offer
comprehensive, multidisciplinary opportunities across the
continuum of health professions education.
