| Title: | Fundamental Critical Care Support Course |
| Description: | Become equipped to manage the first 24 hours of Critical Care. This internationally recognized course currently trains more than 6,000 healthcare professionals annually in more than 24 countries. During the two-day FCCS course, attendees participate in lectures and hands-on training for important critical care skills including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, neurological support and life threatening infections. **A cancellation fee of $175.00 will be deducted from your registration if a refund is issued. Substitutes are encouraged. |

| Objectives: | 1. Define the classifications of acute respiratory failure. |
| 2. Demonstrate techniques of airway management and respiratory support. | |
| 3. Demonstrate various treatment modalities used during resuscitative measures. | |
| 4. Demonstrate vascular access including the use of Seldinger technique. | |
| 5. Describe assessment parameters to be utilized during evaluation of the trauma patient. | |
| 6. Describe components of mechanical ventilation. | |
| 7. Discuss early recognition and treatment principles of critical illness. | |
| 8. Discuss primary, secondary and tertiary evaluation and assessment parameters for the critically ill patient. | |
| 9. Discuss the management of trauma and burn patients. | |
| 10. Discuss the use of mechanical ventilation in the non-breathing patient. | |
| 11. Discuss treatment options for various special circumstances including life-threatening infections. | |
| 12. Identify conditions associated with acute coronary syndrome. | |
| 13. Identify the major types and principles of shock management. | |
| 14. Recognize signs of threatened airway. | |
| 15. Review causes and manifestations of selected electrolyte imbalances. | |
| 16. Review examples of primary and secondary brain injury. | |
| 17. Review indications and/or limitations of devices and measurements in hemodynamic monitoring. | |
