Title:  Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Description:  This 7 hour course includes a basic review of pharmacology and the respiratory physiology of Nitrous Oxide, and a discussion on ways to identify indications, contraindications, and complications of inhalation analgesia. Characteristics of the Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen delivery system, the states of anesthesia, and phases of State 1 Anesthesia will be reviewed. The course was designed to address the requirements of part 13 of the Dental Practice Act, which states that any dental assistant or dental hygienist who shows evidence of having completed an educational program recognized by the Board of not less than seven clock hours on Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen Inhalant Conscious Sedation may aid and assist a licensed dentist in the administration of Nitrous Oxide-Oxygen Inhalant Conscious Sedation.
