Title: SICP RCIS Exam Review: Preparation for the Cardiovascular Credential Exam to become a Registered

Description: **The Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals (SICP) is awarding all credit. This course is 12.5 hours.** This course is designed to review information for the CCI RCIS invasive registry exam. This course will help you identify areas in which you need to concentrate your self study, or will serve as an overview for those who are preparing to take the exam.

Audience: Cardiovascular Technologists, Radiologic Technologists, Nurses, Respiratory Technologists, EMTs

Format: workshop

Objectives: 1. Discuss cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular disease and pathophysiology relative to the Cardiac Cath Lab patient population.

2. Compare and contrast various techniques, equipment and instrumentation utilized in diagnostic cardiac catheterization procedures versus interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

3. Analyze hemodynamic data, including cardiac output determinations, hemodynamic calculations, pressure waveforms and gradients.

4. Discuss the cardiac pathophysiology that accounts for abnormal hemodynamic findings.

5. Identify various classifications of pharmacological agents used in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including drug actions, indications and contraindications.

6. Explain all aspects of patient care and assessment, patient education, safety, comfort measures, emergency procedures, and legal and professional responsibilities relative to the care of the Cardiac Cath Lab patient.
