Title:  * Filled * - Intraoral Radiography for the Office Trained Dental Assistant
Description:  Through lecture, attendance, self-study and clinical practice, each participant will learn how to expose, develop, fix, mount, and evaluate dental films. Laboratory training will allow the students to practice skills on manikins. DIDACTIC SESSIONS:September 7, 14, 21, 28, October 5, 2010. CLINICAL SESSIONS: October 9, 16, 23, 30, 2010.

Audience:  Office trained dental assistants, DA, DA I. Particpants registered for IOR Training must: be at least 18 years of age.

Objectives:  1. Explain the function of each x-ray machine component.
  2. Recognize radiographic signs of disease abnormalities.
  3. Demonstrate the technical procedures used to limit radiation exposure to the safest practice levels.
  4. Identify normal radiographic anatomy of the teeth and surrounding structures.
  5. Discuss the fundamental principles involved in paralleling and bisecting the angle.
  6. Describe the procedures for obtaining extra-oral and intraoral supplemental projections.
