Program Information

Title:  Demystifying Management of Voice Disorders
Description:  Because the laryngeal mechanism is not easily visible and the vocal folds are only one subsystem of four that work synergistically to produce voice, the management of patients with voice disorders is often mystifying at the very least, and daunting at its worst for some speech pathologists. This conference is designed to take the mystery out of the diagnosis and treatment of voice disorders and to explore the fun in working with voice patients. Participants will learn about the diagnosis of voice disorders and will have the opportunity to explore new assessment equipment. They will also practice a variety of voice therapy techniques with supervision in large and small groups. Lastly, a panel of experts will share their experiences in working with the human voice.
